Morbid Curiosity
Apply to Morbid Curiosity

Here at Morbid Curiosity, we like to encourage our raiding applicants to really show us as much about themselves as they can.  This is good for both us, the guild, in making sure that we take quality applicants into our guild, and it’s good for you, the applicant, in making sure that you fit into the Morbid Curiosity mindset.  If you haven’t read through our Guild RulesRaid Policies, and Guild Guidelines, now is the time to do so.  We will know if you haven’t, and it’s in your best interest to read all three pages thoroughly.

Got it?  Good!  Below, we’ll be explaining our questions.  At the end of this post is the application template.  Good luck, and be thorough and honest!  Remember, the more you tell us, the better we can get to know you.  Please keep in mind - if you do not fill out the application fully, you may be rejected outright.  As such, it is in your best interest to read this full post before applying!

Here are the questions on our application, and some things to think about when you answer them:

Main Spec/Secondary Spec
What is your -current- main spec?  What is your -current- offspec?  Is there a different spec you would prefer to play as?

Age
Your real-life age.  We are a mature guild, and sometimes that means that there is naughty language used.  But at the same time, we are also looking for players who can handle themselves in the strong manner that is expected from adults.  If you’re uncomfortable giving a specific number, give us a ballpark estimate.  (For example, when asked about her age my mother simply says, “I remember when watching a movie at home meant catching it on TV - that’s it!”)

Transfer/Ownership Status
Are you currently on Kirin Tor or are you transferring from another server?  If you are transferring from another server, why?  Did you originally create the account that you play on?  Is your real name the name on the Battle.net account you play from?  If not, why?

Alts
Please give us armory links for any alts of note, such as high-level alts or former mains you experienced past content on.

Availability
What time zone do you live in?  What days of the week and times of day can you generally be on?  What real-life circumstances (such as school, work, parents, kids, pets, internet issues or significant others) might keep you from the game?  What times can you -definitely- not be on?  Can you make our regularly scheduled raid times, or is there something that might interfere?

Guild History
What guilds have you been a member of?  What servers were they on, when were you a member, and who was the GM of the guild when you were a member?

What is your raid history?
When did you start playing WoW?  What past content (Vanilla, BC, WotLK, and older Cata raids) have you experienced while it was current?  What guilds/servers did you experience this content with?  What did you like about the raids you experienced?  What didn’t you like about them?  What achievements did you earn when the content was current?  The more detail you can give us here, the better.

Why do you want to join Morbid Curiosity?
Where did you hear about Morbid Curiosity?  What about the guild appeals to you as a player?

Tell us about your Class.
How did you choose the spec you currently have?  What addons do you use to help you perform your role in a raid situation?  What do you like best about your main and secondary specs?  What do you like least about your specs?  What resources do you use to keep up-to-date on the current state of your class (such as blogs, forums and websites)?  What would you change about your class if you could?

What degree of raid preparation are you used to?
Think about consumables, enchants, gems, reforging, and gearing in a non-raid environment.  What do you think it takes to be raid ready?  How long before a raid do you sign on?  How much time do you spend preparing for a raid?

Tell us about your Internet Connection.
What ISP do you use?  How reliable is it?  Can you run a speedtest (http://www.speedtest.net) for us?

Do you have any special circumstances or accomodations we need to be made aware of?
Morbid Curiosity is a very friendly, understanding, and mature guild.  We’re willing to work with people with disabilities, children, or specific sensitivites in order to help them find a raiding situation that works for them.  This will not be used to deny you a place in the guild - only to help us prepare for any changes we might need to make if we accept you as a member.  We have made accomodations for players with children, players with impaired hearing and players who were the victims of violent crime.  We can work with you, too - and if you’re not comfortable making this information publically known, just PM an officer so that we can work with you directly.
